Local Assembly Member, Nick Ramsay called in to the drop-in session yesterday afternoon organised by Gilwern Community Council to hear local residents’ concerns about the application to build ninety two dwellings at Cae Meldon.
Speaking today Nick said:
“I appreciate local concerns about this proposed development which comprises high density housing of a town house design which doesn’t seem to me to be in keeping with the character of Gilwern.
“I’m contacting Brecon Beacons National Park Authority to make my views known.
“I also have concerns about highway considerations, with the location of the site at the entrance to the village and further issues over the site layout. I will be contacting Monmouthshire County Council Highways Department requesting them to look closely at this too.”
