Local Assembly Member, Nick Ramsay paid a visit to Mitchel Troy last Friday to meet local residents who are very unhappy about Monmouthshire Housing Association’s plans to build affordable housing on land near their homes.
Speaking today Nick said:
“I fully appreciate local residents’ concerns about this proposed development which is a rural exception site and in my view not suitable for affordable housing.
“I’m contacting Monmouthshire County Council’s Highways department about the narrow access road which I understand is already used as a “rat run” from Llanishen.
“I’ve also written to the planning department about the concerns that have been raised with me especially the slope of the site and the fact it is prone to become waterlogged.
“Local residents are understandably very unhappy about the lack of local consultation on the proposal to develop this site and hope that their concerns will be given serious consideration before any decision is made.”
