LOCAL Assembly Member Nick Ramsay has welcomed news received from Edwina Hart AM, the Welsh Government Transport Minister, confirming that that the entire concrete section of the A40 between Raglan and Abergavenny has been identified as a priority area for noise mitigation. This confirms that residents not only of The Bryn but also those at Bryngwyn and other residential areas along the A40 between Raglan and Abergavenny will benefit from reductions in road noise once resurfacing is carried out.
Speaking today, Nick said:
”I wrote once again to the Minister after receiving correspondence from residents living in Bryngwyn near the A40 who were seeking clarification on whether they would benefit from resurfacing of the A40 in their area.
“I’m delighted that Edwina Hart AM has confirmed the entire concrete section of the A40 between Raglan and Abergavenny will benefit from resurfacing which has been prioritised with early design work likely to commence this year.
“ I know many people living near this noisy stretch of the A40 will be very pleased to hear this news, and especially all those who have fought a long campaign for a new road surface. We all look forward to the day this becomes a reality.”
