MONMOUTH Assembly Member Nick Ramsay is urging constituents to take part in the British Heart Foundation Cymru’s “Bag it. Beat It” September campaign to help fight against congenital heart disease.
Heart problems remain the most common defect at birth, with 2,000 children in Wales going to school every day with a heart condition they were born with.
During September BHF Cymru are asking people to donate their unwanted clothes, DVDs, shoes, handbags and books to their shops to help raise funds that will go directly towards funding vital research into children suffering from congenital heart disease.
Voicing his support for the campaign, Mr Ramsay said:
“I hope everyone will get behind this campaign and bag up any unwanted items to help beat this life threatening condition.
“Increased donations to BHF shops will help further life saving heart research. So Bag it. Beat it!”
