Local Assembly Member, Nick Ramsay, attended a meeting with officers from Monmouthshire County Council and David Davies MP last Friday, and both were briefed on the current position with the 21st Century Schools Programme in Monmouthshire.
Speaking today Nick said:
“I was very grateful to the officers for arranging this meeting.
“The plans for the exciting new comprehensive school in Monmouth and the council’s reasoning behind the preferred option for the siting of the new school building and new swimming pool were explained.
“I understand the full business case goes to the Assembly within the next few weeks and a decision from the Assembly should be received next month.
“We received an assurance that a new pool will be built, that the views of the community have been listened to, and it is hoped that the Welsh Government will give the go-ahead to the exciting development very soon.”
