MONMOUTH Assembly Member Nick Ramsay is encouraging local secondary school students in Year 11 to take part in the ITV News Election 2015 School Debate project, which was launched recently on Wales at Six.
The project, part of a pan-ITV News initiative, is aimed at getting young people in Wales involved in the political process ahead of the General Election on May 7th.
Speaking in support of the project, Mr Ramsay said:
“According to a recent poll, young people are less likely to vote than older citizens, so this is a great opportunity for Year 11 students to have their say by staging their own political debates, mock elections and surveys.
“ITV New Cymru Wales want pupils to let them know about any planned debates so that they can feature some on their news programmes over the coming months.”
