Last night Monmouth Assembly Member, Nick Ramsay, attended Abergavenny Town Council’s projects meeting to brief councillors on the proposed devolution of tax powers to the Assembly. Nick is currently undertaking a tour of councils in the constituency to help explain the proposed financial changes to the way the Assembly works and to answer questions from both councillors and members of the public.
Speaking today, Mr Ramsay said:
“These meetings provide an ideal opportunity for me to explain the proposed devolution of tax powers to the Assembly and to listen to people’s concerns.
“Last night we also discussed local government reorganisation. Uncertainty about what the future holds in this area is another serious concern locally. The Welsh Government needs to make clear what its plans are sooner rather than later.
“People understandably have real concerns about these changes.”
