AM follows up complaints of river blockages

LOCAL Assembly Member Nick Ramsay has contacted Natural Resources Wales (NRW)  following complaints from constituents about blockages at Wye Bridge in Monmouth and at Llanfoist Bridge near Abergavenny.

The blockage at Llanfoist is so large that branches of trees blocking the bridge are protruding above the bridge’s walls and are visible to motorists. Monmouth residents have also been in touch about the river at Wye Bridge, which needs clearing.

Speaking on Wednesday, Mr Ramsay said:

“These complaints come in the wake of similar problems at Skenfrith, where NRW took prompt action to clear the bridge in response to my complaint. They say they are now looking into these recent  problems so I hope it won’t be too long before they are resolved.”
