Last Thursday evening Monmouth Assembly Member, Nick Ramsay, attended a public meeting organised by Chepstow Town Council to brief councillors and members of the public on the proposed devolution of tax powers to the Assembly.
Nick is currently undertaking a tour of councils in the constituency to help explain the proposed financial changes to the way the Assembly works and to answer questions from those with concerns about the proposals.
Speaking today, Mr Ramsay said:
“The public meeting in Chepstow was well attended and provided an ideal opportunity for me to explain the proposed devolution of tax powers to the Assembly and to listen to people’s concerns.
“People were also free to discuss other issues with me, and it’s always good to meet constituents and hear their views on a wide range of subjects. I look forward to my tour of the constituency continuing over the coming months”
