Nick congratulates Usk In Bloom on record breaking auction

LOCAL Assembly Member Nick Ramsay has congratulated all those involved with Usk In Bloom on raising just over £6,000 at their recent Auction, held at The Nag’s Head, Usk.

Speaking on Wednesday, Nick, who donated a prize of lunch for two at the Assembly, said:

“This was a tremendous, record-breaking event and is a tribute to all those who worked so hard and gave so generously to make the auction such a success.

“As many will know, this coming year is a big one for the town as Usk has been chosen to enter the Champion of Champions Class in the prestigious Britain in Bloom competition. Usk is the only place in Wales to be invited to compete and one of only six places in the whole of Britain to be considered.

“The overwhelming success of the Auction is testament to the tremendous level of support shown by the local community and to the dedication of local volunteers and Usk In Bloom Chair, Tony Kear.

“I wish them every success in their bid for the 2015 Championship.”
