MONMOUTH Assembly Member Nick Ramsay is pressing for urgent action to be taken to improve road safety on the A465 at Llanvihangel Crucorney.
Mr Ramsay wrote to the Welsh Government Minister for Transport, Edwina Hart AM, after meeting local councillors and residents and agreeing with them that road signage in the area needed to be improved to prevent road traffic accidents and improve road safety.
However, he was dismayed to learn from the Minister that it could be as long as five or six years before improvements were carried out.
“My constituents feel that such a long wait is simply not acceptable so I have written again to the Minister asking if there is any possibility that this stretch of the trunk road could be given priority – at least in a shorter timescale.
“I hope that some action will be taken more quickly to allay my constituents’ concerns about road safety in the area.”
