MONMOUTH Assembly Member Nick Ramsay has been told by the Welsh Government Minister, Edwina Hart AM, that road safety improvements on the A465 at Llanvihangel Crucorney will only be given priority if there are more accidents on this section of road.
Speaking on Wednesday, Mr Ramsay said:
“This is very disappointing news, given local concerns on this issue and the fact that we may have to wait as long as five or six years for safety improvements to be carried out. In my view this is simply not acceptable.
“I have met local councillors and residents to discuss their concerns. They were hoping that signage at least could be improved in a shorter timescale.
“I will certainly keep this matter under review and have asked local residents to let me know if there are any serious incidents on this section of road so that I can again take the issue up with the Minister as a matter of urgency.”
