Nick congratulates school on winning energy makeover

MONMOUTH Assembly Member Nick Ramsay has congratulated Haberdashers Monmouth School on winning an energy makeover worth £100,000 after taking a top prize in the Welsh Final of the British Gas Generation Green competition.

Pupils from Haberdashers Monmouth came out on top in the secondary school section after competing against three other schools in Wales. Pupils from the four schools competed in front of crowds outside St David’s shopping centre in Cardiff after their designs for an energy saving school of the future were shortlisted from a number of entries from schools across Wales.

Speaking on Wednesday, Mr Ramsay said:

“My congratulations go to all involved in taking part in this fascinating competition and winning such a fabulous prize. I am looking forward to visiting the school and seeing the energy-saving technology, which is due to be installed in the coming months.”
