Nick attends the Scarecrow Festival

LOCAL Assembly Member Nick Ramsay was delighted to mingle with the scarecrows at the second annual Scarecrow Festival, held at Llanfrechfa, on the weekend.

Over recent weeks villagers and visitors have had fun spotting the 29 scarecrows dotted around the village, culminating in a festival fun day at The Gate on Sunday, The event attracted hundreds of visitors who enjoyed a fun afternoon, which included music and a variety of stalls, among them the local Llanfrechfa animal rehoming charity, All Creatures Great and Small.

Congratulating all involved in organising and supporting the festival, Nick said:

“It was a most enjoyable event. The Gate has been at the hub of the community since it reopened in 2013 and I’m delighted to see it going from strength to strength. I hope the Scarecrow Festival will become a permanent feature in the village calendar.
