LOCAL Assembly Member Nick Ramsay joined thousands of spectators who lined the banks of the River Wye on Sunday for the 50th annual Raft Race.
More than 100 brilliantly decorated rafts, assembled at Monmouth Boat House in the sunshine to take part in the six and a half mile race along the River Wye to Tump Farm at Whitebrook.
Organisers, The Rotary Club of Monmouth, are hoping to raise around £50,000 for St David’s Hospice and other charities.
Speaking on Monday, Nick said:
“It was a fabulous fun afternoon and it was great to see so many spectators and competitors, including business owners and charities, turn out in force to support this popular event. I would like to congratulate all involved in organising such a successful afternoon.”
