LOCAL Assembly Member Nick Ramsay was pleased to have been able to attend the reception held in Beaufort Square, Chepstow last Saturday afternoon to welcome a team of six wounded service personnel to Chepstow after completing the walk on Offa’s Dyke Path from Monmouth to Chepstow earlier that day.
The team started their long walk on 22nd August in Scotland, and plan to arrive at Buckingham Palace on 1st November.
Speaking after the reception Nick said:
“Chepstow’s High Street was packed with well-wishers showing their support for the troops and there was a great atmosphere in the town during the afternoon event.
“The reception was a fitting way for Chepstow and Monmouthshire to show gratitude to our soldiers wounded in action in the course of defending our freedom.”
