Local AM Urges Constituents to “Go Energy Shopping”

MONMOUTH Assembly Member Nick Ramsay attended a presentation by Ofgem at the Assembly earlier this week and learned that up to 68% of households in Monmouthshire could be missing out on energy savings of £327 a year.

Many households in Wales are still on standard tariffs and could well be better off moving to a fixed deal.

Speaking today, Nick said:

“I would urge all my constituents to go energy shopping this winter.

“Ofgem has strengthened consumer protection for those choosing fixed tariffs and their “ Be An Energy Shopper” website gives independent advice on how to get a better energy deal with links to Ofgem-accredited switching sites.

“It’s now easier than ever to find the best deal, and you could save up to £327 a year just by switching from a standard tariff to a fixed deal.”
