MONMOUTH Assembly Member Nick Ramsay joined the UK’s largest cat charity, Cats Protection, at the launch of their Manifesto for Cats held at Cardiff Bay last Tuesday.
Nick found out more about the charity which helps over 205,000 cats UK wide and has seven volunteer branches across Wales. The Welsh Manifesto for Cats proposals include controls on breeding and sale of cats, banning snares and ensuring more owned cats are microchipped.
Speaking today Nick said:
“Cats are important to millions of people and provide a whole range of benefits including love and companionship.
“Despite being an essential part of the lives of so many people, cats are frequently subject to mistreatment and neglect. I hope Cats Protection’s manifesto will help improve the lives of cats in Wales.”
