Local AM Enjoys Abergavenny’s Fairtrade Breakfast

Local Assembly Member Nick Ramsay was pleased to have been able to attend the civic breakfast hosted by Councillor Mrs Maureen Powell, Mayor of Abergavenny, at the Town Hall last Saturday morning.

Abergavenny Fairtrade Forum had organised the event as a new venture for this year’s Fairtrade Fortnight.

Speaking after the breakfast Nick said:

“This was a packed event with great support showing why Monmouthshire was one of the first Fairtrade counties in Wales. I was pleased to support the campaign and to push for greater fair trade produce in the Assembly.

“The breakfast was excellent, with a variety of Fairtrade and local products available to sample and enjoy. I’m sure the event will be repeated as it’s a great way to help promote Fairtrade Fortnight and raise its profile locally.

“Fairtrade isn’t just good for farmers and people living in the developing world – this breakfast has shown fair trade tastes good too!”
