CAL Assembly Member Nick Ramsay had a meeting at Cardiff Bay yesterday with Edwina Hart AM, Welsh Government Minister for Transport and constituents Mrs Catherine Russell and her daughters from Chepstow. Mrs Russell’s husband was hit by a car and killed on the A466 link road in Chepstow last October, and Mrs Russell launched a campaign with Mr Ramsay’s support, to make this stretch of the A466 safer.
The purpose of the meeting was to stress safety issues with this three lane road where at least five serious accidents have occurred in the last few years.
Commenting today, Mr Ramsay said:
“I was very pleased that the Minister agreed to this meeting with Mrs Russell and her daughters so that they had the opportunity to put forward their views on how road safety could be improved on this section of the A466.
“I’m confident that action will now be taken to improve safety on this stretch of road and will be liaising with the Minister to reach a satisfactory conclusion.”
