Local Assembly Member Nick Ramsay was pleased to have been able to attend the event held last Sunday in Monmouth when the ship’s Company of HMS Monmouth Exercised the Freedom of Monmouth.
After a reception at The Shire Hall the March and Parade took place in the town with Nick being invited to inspect the Platoon of Able Seamen as part of the ship’s company.
Speaking today Nick said:
“I was proud to be invited to inspect the platoon of Able Seamen as part of the wider inspection of the ship’s company. This provided a great opportunity to talk briefly to some of the ship’s company lined up in front of the Old Castle Museum.
“This was truly a day to remember in the history of HMS Monmouth as well as the town itself.”
