MONMOUTH AM Nick Ramsay has visited the farm of a Glanbaiden resident who is very concerned by the noise emanating from the road construction work from the A465 dualling scheme in the vicinity of his farm.
The constituent breeds prize winning Welsh Cobs which are in foal and suffering distress at the noise levels. Plans to continue the construction work through the night will only make the situation worse.
Speaking after his visit to Glanbaiden Nick said:
“Noise from the construction work is clearly causing residents and local livestock distress.
“I have contacted the contractors, Costain, to see if some compromise can be reached so that work building the new road can continue without undue distress being caused to residents. I have suggested a site meeting which I would be happy to attend to try to negotiate a satisfactory outcome.”
