AM renews calls for A40 resurfacing

MONMOUTH Assembly Member Nick Ramsay is renewing his calls to the Welsh Assembly Government to prioritise the resurfacing of the A40 between Raglan and Abergavenny

Prior to the Assembly election, Mr Ramsay joined local residents from The Bryn in campaigning for a new, quiet road surface to replace the outdated and noisy, concrete surface.

Since then the Welsh Government has appointed a new Cabinet Secretary with responsibility for trunk roads, Ken Skates, AM.

Speaking today, Mr Ramsay said:

“I have been campaigning for a long time for a new, quiet tarmac road surface along this stretch of the A40.

“The current surface causes severe disturbance to residents of The Bryn and other communities along the A40.

“I am pressing the new Cabinet Secretary for infrastructure and roads, Ken Skates, to prioritise work on this road surface.

“I fully appreciate the concerns of local residents and look forward to the Welsh Government acting to improve this road at the earliest opportunity.”
